What is it

PH-CU-S is an Adobe Photoshop panel (UXP plugin) that turns ComfyUI into an image generation engine directly inside your Photoshop workflow.

The plugin sends the current canvas (or active selection) to ComfyUI along with your prompt and parameters, runs the selected workflow, and returns the result back into Photoshop as a new layer.

Installation & Setup

System Requirements

  • Adobe Photoshop 26.10 or higher
  • ComfyUI with ComfyUI_PH-CU-S custom node installed
  • Shared exchange folder accessible by both Photoshop and ComfyUI
  • Recommended Hardware: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (6GB VRAM), 32GB RAM minimum

1. Install Photoshop Plugin

  1. Install the plugin via Adobe UXP Developer Tool or Creative Cloud
  2. Open the panel: Window Extensions PH-CU-S

2. Install ComfyUI Custom Node

  1. Copy the ComfyUI_PH-CU-S folder into ComfyUI/custom_nodes/
  2. Start ComfyUI nodes will appear under the PH-CU-S category

3. Configure config.txt

The config.txt file is in the plugin folder. Edit it manually to set:

  • WORKFLOWS_FOLDER - path to your .json workflows
  • PS_INPUTS_DIR - path to exchange folder (shared with ComfyUI)
  • COMFYUI_URL - server address (default: http://localhost:8188)

Detailed Interface Guide

Prompt & Negative Prompt

Text areas for your AI prompts. Passed directly to ComfyUI via prompt.txt and negative.txt files.

Additional Images Support

Upload up to 3 additional images for:

  • Inpainting workflows
  • Image-to-image generation
  • Multi-image input scenarios

Images saved as extra1.png, extra2.png, extra3.png in exchange folder.

Fixed Seed / Random Seed

Control seed behavior:

  • Fixed: Use specific seed value for reproducible results
  • Random: ComfyUI generates new seed each run
  • Actual used seed displayed after generation completes

Prompt Slots (SAVE & LOAD)

6 numbered slots for parameter presets:

  • Load mode (default): Loads saved prompt set with all parameters
  • Save mode: Saves current settings to slot (buttons highlight red)
  • Restored automatically on plugin launch

Snap to Grid

Auto-align image dimensions for different models:

  • FLUX 64: Dimensions rounded to 64px (for FLUX models)
  • Qwen 112: Dimensions rounded to 112px (for Qwen models)
  • Auto-selected based on workflow name

Custom Step & CFG

Pass custom parameters to workflow nodes:

  • Custom Step: Integer value (up to 4 digits)
  • CFG: Guidance scale (up to 2 decimal places)

ComfyUI Integration

How It Works (Data Flow)

  1. Select canvas or area in Photoshop
  2. Enter prompt and configure parameters
  3. Click "Run Workflow"
  4. Plugin saves canvas and parameters to exchange folder
  5. ComfyUI processes the workflow
  6. Result returned as new Photoshop layer

ComfyUI Custom Nodes

PH-CU-S Input

Reads all input data from exchange folder: canvas, mask, prompts, seed, parameters, image dimensions.

PH-CU-S Images

Loads up to 3 additional images (extra1.png, extra2.png, extra3.png) for multi-image workflows.

PH-CU-S Save Seed

Accepts seed, writes to exchange folder, passes value to next nodes. Returns actual used seed to plugin.

PH-CU-S Output

Extends SaveImage. Saves result and sends HTTP notification to plugin on completion.

History & Auto-Cleanup

Automatic history management:

  • Prompts saved to slots logged to prompts_old.txt
  • All generation runs logged to all_prompts.txt
  • Automatic cleanup on plugin launch (configurable days retention)
  • Export history as .txt or .html

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with all Photoshop versions?

Yes, compatible with Photoshop 26.10 and newer. Earlier versions may not work due to UXP API limitations.

Is this a subscription or one-time purchase?

One-time purchase of $10. No subscriptions, no recurring fees, no feature limitations over time.

Can I use remote ComfyUI server?

Yes! Configure the ComfyUI Server URL in the Config tab. Supports both local and network-accessible servers.

Which AI models are supported?

Works with any ComfyUI workflow: FLUX.1, Qwen, Klein, Stable Diffusion, and custom models. No model restrictions.

Do I need GPU for Photoshop plugin?

No. GPU is only needed for the ComfyUI machine running the models. Photoshop plugin runs on any system.

What about my images privacy?

Images are exchanged via a local folder. Use local ComfyUI server for maximum privacy, or configure a secure network setup.
